New High Definition DVD News 25.05.06
As HD-DVD and Blue Ray finally start making their way to the market, more titles are starting to appear on DVD racks.
Warner Home Entertainment is doing something new with an HD title for the first time. Constantine is coming to HD-DVD with Warner’s new In-Movie Experience. The new feature allows viewers to access interviews and other behind the scenes materials while the film is running. The “IME” for Constantine is hosted by director Francis Lawrence who leads a more interactive form of commentary on the disc.
Warner Home Entertainment’ will also be releasing Firewall and The Perfect Storm, both on HD-DVD. The Perfect Storm will carry the same supplements as its standard DVD release. Firewall will come as a dual format disc with both the standard and HD versions.
Also coming out on HD-DVD in May is The Fugitive and Blazing Saddles. The content of the supplements on both discs will be identical to the existing DVDs.
Sharon Stone's return to character goes “Blue” Basic Instinct 2. Both an R Rated and an unrated version of the film will be available on Blue Ray. Both will come with an audio commentary and the featurette Between the Sheets: A Look Inside the Making of Basic Instinct 2. The unrated film also comes with deleted scenes. Both versions will arrive in July.
